Families – We’re here to help

GP Support Officer

Sometimes families go through difficult times. Please let us know if we can help. We have a GPSO (GP support officer) working with us every day. Sharon’s role is to offer support and advice to patients with social needs e.g. financial issues, PIP and benefit questions, housing, parenting support, getting back to work and many other life situations. Sharon can signpost our patients to other local services. Many patients have found help from mindfulness and stress control courses provided by Valleys Steps. Sharon has gained knowledge in helping patients and their families with dementia following her dementia awareness training. Patients can book to see Sharon with the receptionist, it is not necessary to see the doctor or nurse first. Sharon has been trained in maintaining confidentiality.

Carers and Their Families

Debra Wilkes is our Carer’s Champion and will provide advice to all carers including our young carers who are sometimes providing enormous amounts of practical and personal care to family members. Young Carer’s Trust
