Prescriptions & Medication Reviews

Order your repeats prescriptions online via the NHS Wales APP

Requests for repeat medication can be made online via the link at the top of this page or by returning the prescription counterfoil to Reception

Alternatively you can nominate a local chemist (from a list available here) and we will arrange for your medication to be available for collection from that chemist.

You can drop your prescription request off at the surgery by using the prescription box in the foyer outside the GP Practice.

By post, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your repeat prescription and the items you need clearly ticked.

Please allow 48 hours for your repeat prescription request to be processed. It may be necessary for patients to allow more than 48 hours if their pharmacy collects their monthly prescription. In this instance please speak to your local pharmacy for advice.

Please let the receptionist or your pharmacist know if you have stopped taking any of your medication.

Please avoid over-ordering medication to prevent waste.

Nominate a Pharmacy

To make the process of collecting your prescriptions easier we recommend you nominate a pharmacy. Each month your prescription will be sent to your chosen pharmacy and dispensed. This saves you time and effort as you won’t need to come to the surgery, you just go to your pharmacy and collect

To nominate your pharmacy, firstly please speak to the pharmacy you would like to choose. Once they have confirmed they can take on your prescriptions you will need to let the surgery know.

Medication Reviews

It is a requirement that all patients taking regular repeat medication must have an annual review for patient safety reasons.

When your review is due your repeat prescription request slip will be marked with a highlighted letter R. When you collect your medication from your pharmacy please check your slip is inside the bag. If you see an R on your repeat request slip, please call the practice to book an appointment.
Failure to do so may result in the Practice reducing your medication to a 14 day supply.

It is a patient’s responsibility to ensure their repeat items are ordered in good time to prevent delays and ensure any problems are addressed as soon as possible.

Please note if you suffer from a chronic disease such as heart problems, thyroid problems diabetes, asthma or COPD, you will need an annual blood test before your medication review can be processed by a doctor.
